The Georgian Military Highway climbs through the Jvari Pass (2,379 m) — one of the most dramatic panoramas in the Caucasus, and most of our guests ask for a photo stop right at the pass. That's no problem: the route is flexible, and drivers are happy to pull over at the good viewpoints along the way.
Stepantsminda (better known as Kazbegi) is the endpoint, with views of Mount Kazbek (5,054 m) and the 14th-century Gergeti Trinity Church perched high on its hilltop. A dirt road leads up to the church itself, best covered by 4x4 or on foot — arrange this separately with your driver if you'd like to include it.
In winter (December–March) the highway sometimes closes temporarily for snowfall or avalanche control — on those days your transfer is rescheduled to the next opening, with no charge for the delay.
